After visiting Yellowstone I was inspired to paint a winter scene using the photos of deer on the hill side. I did want to make some subtitle camouflage of images in this 22’ x 30” water color painting.
This commissioned piece captures a family's Alaskan journey by transforming their photographs into a single, evocative memory rendered in acrylic on an antique saw. Measuring 8" x 20", the painting layers cool glacier blues, muted evergreens, and warm wood tones to reflect the landscape and intimate moments from their trip. The saw's weathered patina adds a tactile history, its grain and rust becoming part of the composition and tying the work to both place and time. The result is a compact, personal keepsake that honors the family's story while celebrating a trip.
